How it began
Two sisters in two continents, Wenny in Indonesia and Durin in Germany. The first was tired with nine to five job in an office, and the later was searching a paid activity that could be done at home. Both have something in common: getting tired with working for someone and spent all day long in someone’s office. Since art was one of their interests in life, they talked about selling arts from their origin. During the preparation in 2003, an unpredictable surprise happened; a cute fetus was growing in the womb of one of them; the one in Europe. But the first shipment was on the way already. Though the process of running business continued during the pregnancy, it was the year of 2005 when the business really moved.
The name ‘Eflair’ was an abbreviation of exotic and artistic flair. They have been selling artistic crafts from an exotic land, Indonesian. Starting with batik painting, they added garden meubel as a special offer. In 2005 they started jewellery section. Beginning with gemstones and Baliness silver, later the non-stone jewelleries were available in 2006. The latest collections in 2007 are handmade batik pillow-sheets and deco in wooden box.
Up to now, their products consist of two main categories: jewellery and home decorations.
The jewellery collection has three sections: earrings, necklaces, and bracelets. Each of them is available with or without stones. Most of the jewellery collection on this website were designed and created by Wenny Tempelaars. She lives in Bandung - Indonesia with her family; one daughter and a husband. She found her passion on gemstones and making jewelry just two years ago in 2005. Though she also makes jewelry without stones (and enjoys it), her first love is actually working with stones.
The home decoration collection has four sections: batik painting, batik pillow sheets, sets of garden furniture, and a miniature of a room or terasse. All are handmade and unique.
So how it all begun. And they are still here now. They are us. Eflair.
